Daily prayers from our persecuted family
Each day our Prayer Shield provides a brief, country-focused prayer topic for you to use. It can help if you are busy, or if you just do not know what to pray for. You can see today’s prayer, plus those for the last six days, to the right.
In rural parts of Upper Egypt women can often be the main source of income and support for their families, either because they are widows or their husbands work abroad. Pray for the work our partners do in helping these women practically and pastorally.
Pray for our partners in rural areas of Upper Egypt as they support Christian families who are marginalised and struggle to earn enough to sustain themselves.
Regional conflict has led to significant increases in the price of basic commodities. This can have a significant impact on Christians living in rural areas of Upper Egypt who are already in a weak socio-economic position and can be disproportionately impacted. Pray that they will be able to endure this increase in hardship.
Pray for peace in Burkina Faso and for rights and justice for all its people. The military Government recently banned all political parties, and freedom of expression in areas such as faith and politics is being increasingly restricted.
Pray for protection for Pastor ‘S’ and his team as they travel around Burkina Faso meeting persecuted and displaced Christians and supporting them through livelihood projects. Some roads are mined and others blocked by checkpoints.
Pray for displaced pastors, such as ‘David’, who have had to relocate their families and their ministries and start afresh. Thankfully they are now being supported with animals to rear and other livelihood initiatives. May God guide them in their new areas of ministry.
Thank God that our partner has been able to help Christian widows such as ‘Rachelle’ (pictured), who now rears pigs to provide for her and her five children. Pray for God’s blessing on other widows who are receiving support through our partner project.
